You may have heard that there’s no website needed to make money with affiliate marketing. While this is very true in this article we will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of running an affiliate business without a website.

There are many companies that sell products online. The types of products range from toys to clothes to books to ‘digital’ products such as ebooks, videos and audio recordings. An affiliate program is a program that runs on the internet in order to track the number of sales an ‘affiliate’ sends to the company who’s program they are signed up for. Now, affiliate marketing is the process by which the salesperson (the affiliate) promotes the products they are signed up for.

There are many reasons to sign up as an affiliate marketer. Here are some:

- No customer service required.
- You can quickly change products as the market demands or requires.
- You can supplement a service or other business with affiliate marketing ‘on the side’.

Can I do this without a website?
Yes, you most certainly can become and profit as an affiliate without a website. Here are some ways:
1. PPC – Using pay per click marketing you can send prospects directly to the company website and earn a commission.
2. Emails – You can use email marketing to build a list offline or through other people’s websites (as a guest author or blogger) and then promote products to that list using your affiliate link.
3. Offline promotions – There are many ways you can promote a product as an affiliate offline. Get creative and share a redirected URL at speaking events, at one on one meetings, in brochures, on your business card, etc.
4. Social Media – You can also set up social media accounts, build a following and then use that leverage to promote products as an affiliate.
Should you do affiliate marketing without a website?
The answer to this question depends largely on your ultimate goals with affiliate marketing.
If you are an affiliate marketer who is supplementing another business then it’s likely a good idea to not create more work for yourself by starting a new website. However, if you are building a business out of affiliate marketing then it’s a good idea to consider a website where you can draw large amounts of traffic a build a real community that you can market to.
