The Hard Facts About Making Money With Google AdSense
AdSense, for many that have been taken in by the hype, is a simple way to make money. There are thousands of ads claiming that you can make substantial amounts of money with Google AdSense in a relatively short period of time. There are also many ‘suspect’ sites making the same questionable claims.
But how can you make money with Google AdSense? Can you really make thousands of dollars a month using one of the most popular Pay-Per-Click schemes on the web? Can you start making money with Google AdSense in matter of months?
Unfortunately, too many new publishers join the scheme with completely unrealistic expectations of how much money they’re going to make. Too often they step into AdSense believing the sales pitch and the hype and think that they’ll be making money almost instantaneously.
Inevitably, the cold hard truth dawns on the disillusioned AdSense beginner. AdSense isn’t a quick way of making money on the web. What AdSense as become in recent years is a tightly regulated means of monetizing the flow of web traffic.
AdSense is fundamentally about the movement of traffic through the web. If you’re an AdSense beginner and you’ve just put up your first site, it is very unlikely that you will be controlling any amount of web traffic. Without traffic there’s no possibility of getting that ‘all important click’ from visitors and therefore there’s little chance that you’ll be making any money with AdSense.
Getting real visitors passing through your site takes time. You can try cutting corners by buying traffic or joining traffic exchange sites but ultimately all you’ll be doing is cheating yourself. Paid traffic is probably the worst type of traffic for AdSense. This is because visitors arriving on your site from paid sources have no interest in what your site is offering and therefore they’re unlikely to click on your ads. Remember, the idea is to make AdSense money, not to lose it by wasting it all on unnecessary expenses.
The essential fact that escapes the attention of too many new AdSense publishers is that most ads on average pay only $0.50 per click. This miniscule amount is compounded further by the fact that on average only 2 – 5 per cent of people passing through a site actually click on AdSense ads.
As you can see, making money with Google AdSense is not a simple task. To get an idea how much work is involved lets us try and estimate how much traffic would be needed to make a paltry $500.00 a month.
If we used the slightly favourable figures of about $0.50 per click and allow that 5% of your visitors click on the ads on your site then you would need about 700 visitors to make $500.00 a month.
This is a large figure to reach for a beginner.
But it is attainable, so don’t be taken aback by what you’ve read in this article. If you’re determined and you’re willing to learn, you can make a success out of AdSense… given time.
